Filter Push Pull Valve Operation


Pool maintenance is important, and knowing your way around your equipment is a must for any pool owner. At first glance some or your pool equipment, such as a pool filters, can seem intimidating, but we’re here to help. Below we have assembled easy to follow diagrams, explaining push pull valves and how they function with your pool equipment.


Sand Filter Push Valve: Up Position

When a push/pull valve is in the up position, the sand filter is filtering and returning water back to your pool. Hover over the image above to see the flow of the pool water.



Sand Filter Push Valve: Down Position

When a push/pull valve is in the down position, the sand filter reverses the water flow, backwashing and cleaning the sand in your filter. The water then flows out of the filter and to the sewer or location you have designated for the runoff. Hover over the image above to see the flow of the pool water.



D.E. Filter Push Valve: Up Position

When a push/pull valve is in the Up position, the D.E. filter reverses the water flow, backwashing and cleaning the D.E. and filter grids. The water then flows out of the filter and to the sewer or location you have designated for the runoff. Hover over the image above to see the flow of the pool water.




D.E. Filter Push Valve: Down Position
